Card making

Today I am trying to finish all my card orders. Here is a peek at one of them. I love the Prima dolls & thought it would be great as a Niece card for a teenager.
I can sometimes struggle with card making unless inspiration strikes quickly.
I wanted to do something other than a pop up box card ( which was really hard to back away from lol).
After making this I am now sat trying to think up some idea's for the next 5 cards I need to make by friday!
I think I need a class in card making lol....my brain is just not feeling the love for it.

Getting organized

After weeks (month's) of putting off sorting out my craft stuff, I have finally made a start.
I decided to go down the "cd" route to store some of my acrylic stamps. It was a cheap solution & is working out ok. I can add an extra rack & keep expanding if (or rather when) I buy more stamps.
I would have prefered DVD cases but couldn't find clear ones anywhere.

I have ordered some plastic storage boxes for my 12x12 paper pads which I can label & stack ontop of my unit. I am going to attach a clear A4 sealable bag inside the lid for scraps that correspond with the pads stored in each box.....that way I will no longer have to spend ages rummaging through a big box of scrap searching for that one elusive piece of paper.

Having no craft room is a nightmare & my ever expanding supplies are in chaos, so my mission next week is to get as organized as possible before I need to start on new projects.

Still lots to do but I am getting there. Can't to get it finished & get crafting!

It's all about the Boys!

Hello everyone who takes the time to check out this blog! Please feel to subscribe & leave comments.
Lately I have been working on a few bits for "Boys".....I find it really hard to find stuff the boys will like, as I always end up buying computer games & lego etc or duplicating a prezzie & feeling bad. So I decided to make some comic covered letters for the "MARVEL" & Scooby obsessed boys in my life & not just the young ones LOL.

These letters are for Nicola's son, I still have to finish the Iron man letter but thought I would share anyway. We started them on Saturday (the Batman is all Nics work), but we got side tracked by a trip to the pub, so I brought them home to finish off.
.
I want to do a "Dr Who", for my friends son for his Birthday as he absolutely loves every thing to do with Dr Who, & I think it would look cool. I also want to do a "POW" for my nephew using the MARVEL comics again, but I might do a canvas or shadow box frame for that I haven't quite decided yet.
Great fun to do as I did find myself sitting & reading the comics before cutting them up LOL.

No Box cards today!

Well tonight I decided that I would make something other that a pop-up box card! Shocking I know as I am seriously addicted to them. Any way....I purchased some Megan Suarez digi stamps ages ago, but never got around to doing anything with them (which is code for "I forgot all about them").

I haven't done anything fancy or clever with them, I just coloured them & put them onto 4x4 canvas which I painted & added a quote. Nice & simple, but I think they look cool. I am going to print off the other images in various sizes & do the same so I can hang them or put them on stands together.
When I am a bit more flush I would love to buy an original piece from Megan as I love her work, it will be hard to choose just one.

I don't give a Scooby Doo!

Inbetween washing, ironing & cleaning I squeezed in a little craft time & made another pop up box card.
This is for a Scooby mad 5 year old. I had to fussy cut these out of a magazine as I had no images of Scooby & the gang. First I mounted them in cardstock to make them more sturdy.
I think it turned out OK.
Tomorrow I have a few hours spare to make a few others...a new baby & a 21st birthday, time to break out my new balloon dies!

I did warn you!

I am making soo many of these it's scary! I have yet to photograph them all, but will try & get them done tomorrow before they go. After a search through a box of decoupage I came across these old woodland creatures that I thought were screaming out to be added to a box card. They are adorable, & I had completely forgotten about them (along with a lot of other good stuff, out of sight out of mind...we all got some of that going on I bet).

I am crafting with a friend this weekend & guess what we will be making LOL....I have warned her they are highly addictive. I am seeing them all over pinterest which doesn't surprise me...once you pop, you can't stop!

How addictive!

Yes you've guessed it I have discovered the pop up box cards & I am addicted! All the Gorjuss Girl ones I have made A5 size which fits perfectly into C5 envelopes, but I have also made some smaller ones (which I forgot to photograph before giving away Ooops)

I just cannot stop making them! I had seen Craftwork Cards have them ready to put together but I really didn't want to buy any more stuff so I just had a go at making my own.
All I did was divide my card stock by 4 and allow an extra 1/2" for a tab, & then score & cut. (There are tutorials out there, that I discovered AFTER lol....that would have made my life easier as trying to make sure they fit into envelopes was tuff).

Prepare for A LOT of these style cards to start appearing on here, as like I said I am addicted....you have been warned!
